Covid 19
Better Capacity has been vigilant in monitoring the daily developments of the COVID-19 situation to prioritize the safety of our customers and staff.
We adhere to the guidance provided by the Australian Federal Government and the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This includes following DHHS’s advice for coronavirus (COVID-19) planning in the community services sector, as well as complying with the official Australian Government COVID-19 guidelines.
Our COVID-19 Guidelines
As of 8 July 2020, in accordance with the current Victorian DHHS restrictions:
- A State of Emergency is active in Victoria until 29 July 2020, providing the Chief Health Officer with additional powers.
- Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire have returned to Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions.
- There are specified reasons for leaving home, including shopping for food and supplies, medical care and caregiving, exercise and recreation, and study/work if unable to be done from home.
- Outside these areas, entry is limited to shopping for essentials, medical care, caregiving, and study/work if unable to be done from home.
Our commitment to the safety of our customers remains unwavering. We have implemented various measures aligned with the advice of relevant authorities, including the Australian Federal Government, the Victoria Department of Health and Human Services, the National Disability Insurance Scheme, the World Health Organisation, and our internal quality practices.
Key measures include:
- Scaling down in-person support services
- Staff training on practicing good hand hygiene
- Customer training on hand hygiene and maintaining a safe distance
- Providing up-to-date information on restrictions through various channels
To ensure the safety of both customers and staff, we have implemented safety measures such as temperature checks, ample supplies of hand sanitizers, enhanced safety signage, manual recording of contact details, additional cleaning arrangements, and limitations on activities where physical distancing is challenging.
Better Capacity will continue to provide updated information through various communication channels and encourages customers to reach out with any questions. We look forward to gradually resuming full-service capacity and urge everyone to prioritize safety.
